April 2001 that Malcolm Simpson, a director of the Company, sold 410 ordinary
shares of 20p each (0.003% of the issued share capital) at £28.05 per share.

The Company was also notified on the 4th April 2001, that Ann Simpson, spouse of
Malcolm Simpson, a director of the Company, sold 410 ordinary shares of 20p each
(0.003% of the issued share capital) at £28.05 per share

The total beneficial and non-beneficial holdings of Malcolm Simpson (excluding
interests in share options) following this notification are:-
