On the 16th May 2000, Greggs plc ('the Company') was notified that on the 15th
May 2000, Malcolm Simpson, a director of the Company, purchased 500 ordinary
shares of 20p each (0.004% of the issued share capital) at £21.95 per share.
The shares purchased are in respect of a non-beneficial holding of the director.
The total beneficial and non-beneficial holdings of Malcolm Simpson (excluding
interests in share options) following this notice are:-
