On 2nd January 2001, Greggs PLC ('the Company') received notification that with
effect from the close of business on 31 December 2000 the regulated business of
M&G Investment Management Limited ('MAIGM') was transferred to Prudential
Portfolio Managers Limited ('PPM'). PPM was subsequently renamed as MAIGM and
all future notifications will be in the name of MAGIM.
The Company was also notified that on 28 December 2000, the life and pensions
business of M&G Life Assurance Company Limited and M&G Pensions and Annuity
Company Limited were transferred to Scottish Amicable Life plc. All future
notifications will be in the name of Scottish Amicable Life plc.
M&G Investment Management Limited (on behalf of all companies within the
Prudential plc group of companies) have the following notifiable interests:
PRUCLT HSBC GIS NOM (UK) PAC AC 999,000
PRUCLT HSBC GIS NOM (UK) PPL AC 2,400
Total 1,001,400
This holding represents 8.36% of the issued share capital of the Company. This
information was correct on 29th December 2000.
