On the 19 May 2006, Greggs plc (the "Company") received the following
notification from Aberforth Smaller Companies Trust plc:
"We hereby give notice for the purposes of Part VI of the Companies Act 1985
that today (19 May 2006) we have become aware that Aberforth Smaller Companies
Trust plc has a notifiable interest in 485,892 Ordinary Shares of 20p each
which, based on the information available to us, represents 4.16%* of the issued
share capital of the above company.
The shares to which this notification relates are, or are will be, registered as
