Greggs plc announces that on 18 May 2006 it purchased 33,300 ordinary shares of
20p each in the Company for cancellation at the highest price of £35.165 per
share and at the lowest price of £34.86 per share.



Following this cancellation of shares, the Company's total issued share capital
is £11,652,401.
