SCP confirmed as Shortlist Candidate
Gresham is delighted to announce the publication of an independent buyer's guide
report confirming Gresham's Storage Consolidation Platform ('SCP') as one of the
top 2 enterprise class software solutions in the global disk-to-disk market and
one that should be on every enterprise storage buyer's shortlist.
The report, by Diogenes and published recently by SearchStorage.com, helps IT
buyers differentiate between products and selects the best candidate for their
own situation. 13 of the top products were compared under lab tests that probed
ease-of-use, manageability, features/functions and technical support systems.
Gresham's SCP technology scored 281/2 out of 30 across these tests ranking it
amongst the only 3 Shortlist Candidates identified in the report, and scoring it
some distance ahead of several household names in the storage market such as
Neartek, Overland, FalconStore and Fujitsu-Siemens.
Diogenes Analytical Laboratories Inc is widely regarded as an independent expert
voice in the global enterprise storage market and was founded by IT industry
veterans with the goal of delivering valuable, unbiased, technically-based
technology analysis. The report is published on SearchStorage.com, 'The Web's
best storage-specific information resource for enterprise IT professionals'.
Andrew Walton-Green, Chief Executive Officer of Gresham, commented:
'I am delighted to report that Gresham has been so highly ranked in this
independent test of storage solutions in the disk-to-disk market. SCP offers
more than just tape virtualisation because it also offers a complete
enterprise-tape management platform. With SCP, users can monitor the operations
of all virtual and real resources in their entire tape storage environment from
one location. It consolidates management of all of the tape resources regardless
of the variety of operating systems, backup applications and tape devices in
that environment. This is something that we believe few competitors can really
offer. Putting it simply, tape is our heritage and as many CTOs are keen to
point out, whilst disk is important, for the foreseeable future tape continues
to play a critical role in enterprise storage management.
Gresham has been providing enterprise class storage software to a large number
of the world's largest corporates for many years. If you have a credit card or
car keys in your pocket then it is highly likely that Gresham software provides
a storage solution to the associated brand name.
The Gresham storage team has yet again delivered first class technology that
solves enterprise level issues in the global storage market. The result
announced today again validates our position as experts in the storage market.
As the report says, if you are thinking of procuring a disk-to-disk solution in
the near future then you had better place Gresham firmly on your shortlist.'
