NOTIFICATION OF INTEREST IN GRIFFIN MINING LIMITED

Griffin Mining Limited ('the Company') has today been notified that as of 22nd
March 2001, Everett Financial Management Limited acquired an interest in
8,600,000 ordinary shares in the Company ('Ordinary Shares'), representing
10.39% of the 82,755,743 Ordinary Shares in issue. Everett Financial
Management Limited has also today notified the Company that it has sold
985,000 Ordinary Shares to its clients, leaving Everett Financial Management
Limited with a balance of 7,615,000 Ordinary Shares representing 9.2% of the
Ordinary Shares in issue

The Company has also been notified today that as of 22nd March 2001, City
Equities Limited acquired an interest in 8,000,000 Ordinary Shares,
representing 9.67% of the 82,755,743 Ordinary Shares in issue.  City Equities
Limited have since sold 6,619,000 Ordinary Shares to private clients acting as
principal.
