I give below details of changes in interests in respect of the under-mentioned
Director:-

Dr MM Slaoui   Following the vesting of 2,224.96 Ordinary shares under the 
               GlaxoSmithKline Deferred Investment Award on 1 August 2006, Dr MM
               Slaoui received a payment equivalent to £14.71 per share on 11 
               August 2006.

               Following this Dr Slaoui's interest in shares in the Company has
               decreased by 2,224.96 shares to 36,807.96 shares.

               The Company was advised of this transaction on 10 August 2006.

These notifications are in accordance with Disclosure Rule 3.1.4R(1)(b).
