Dr J P  The Administrators of the SmithKline Beecham US Retirement Savings Plan
Garnier notified GlaxoSmithKline plc on 5 March 2001 that on 2 March 2001 Dr
        Garnier had increased his interest by 26 Ordinary Share ADRs at a price
        of $56.2100 per share. Dr Garnier was also notified of these changes on
        5 March 2001.
