Dr J P  The Administrators of the SmithKline Beecham Senior Executive Bonus
Garnier Plan ('the plan') notified the Company and Dr Garnier on 19th January
        2001 that he had increased his interest by 121.590 Ordinary Share ADRs
        at a price of $52.00 per share following the re-investment of the
        dividend paid to shareholders on the 16th January 2001.
