GlaxoSmithKline plc in respect of the under-mentioned director:-

Dr J P  The Administrators of the SmithKline Beecham US Retirement Savings Plan
Garnier notified GlaxoSmithKline plc on 20 March 2001 that Dr Garnier had
        increased his interest by 2 Ordinary Share ADRs at a price of $49.8000
        per share on the 19 March 2001. Dr Garnier was also notified of this
        change on 20 March 2001.
