GULF KEYSTONE PETROLEUM LIMITED
("Gulf Keystone" or "the Company")
Senior Board Appointment
Gulf Keystone Petroleum, the London AIM listed (GKP) independent oil & gas
exploration company operating in the Republic of Algeria, today announced the
appointment of Mr Bill Guest, a non-executive director of the Company, as
President of the Company, an executive position, with effect from 11 November,
2005.
Mr Guest, a geologist by background, has 30 years of experience in the
international oil & gas industry. He joined Shell in 1975 and held a variety of
exploration, production and commercial positions in the Far East, W.Africa and
Europe before joining the Board of Monument Oil and Gas plc ("Monument") in
1990. During the 1990's, Monument developed into one of the UK's largest
independent exploration and production companies. Mr Guest held the position of
Technical Director and latterly Business Development Director up to the time of
Monument's sale in 1999. Since then, he has held a variety of independent
advisory and senior management roles in the upstream sector, joining the Board
of Gulf Keystone as a non-executive Director in May 2004.
In his new role, Mr Guest will work closely with the Gulf Keystone Executive
team on the development of the Company's forward strategy, the continued
building of a diversified and balanced international portfolio and the further
development of strategic third party relationships. In addition, he will
collaborate closely with Mr Todd Kozel, CEO of Gulf Keystone, on investor
communications activities and strategy.
Mr Todd Kozel, Chief Executive of Gulf Keystone commented:
"Bill Guest is a significant addition to the executive team and I am delighted
that he is joining us. Bill has exceptional experience of the international oil
& gas industry and an extensive range of senior level contacts. He brings
proven management skills and insight into industry opportunities that will be
invaluable to both the successful implementation of Gulf Keystone's development
strategy and to the effective communication of that strategy in the City."
Since the publication of the Company's AIM Admission Document dated 2 September
2004 ("Admission Document") Mr Guest has resigned as director of Endeavour
Energy Norge AS and Endeavour Energy UK, was appointed a director of Endeavour
Norge AS, but subsequently resigned, and has become a partner in Guest &
Associates.
Mr Guest was also a director of Nimex Energy Limited ("Nimex") which was put
into voluntary liquidation on 30 August 2005. Nimex was a shell company which
did not trade and therefore had no outstanding creditors.
Save for the above, there are no updated disclosures to be made in respect of
the appointment of Mr Guest under rule 17 and under Schedule 2 paragraph (g) of
the AIM rules.
