LETTER TO GARTMORE MONTHLY INCOME TRUST PLC 

Gartmore Monthly Income Trust - Ordinary 100p Shares

Aberdeen Asset Managers Limited write to inform you that they purchased 950,000 
shares, on the 22 November 2001, on behalf of Aberdeen High Income Trust Plc.

Aberdeen High Income Trust Plc now holds 10,548,000 shares representing 9.60% of
the issued share capital of that class (previously 8.74%).

The Total number of shares now managed by Aberdeen Asset Managers Limited and 
its associated companies is 27,193,298 shares representing 24.76% of the issued 
share capital of that class (previously 23.89%).

A SAR3 has been lodged with the Stock Exchange as notification of this 
transaction and a breakdown of our holding is provided below.
