                       Gulfsands Petroleum plc

              Notification of Major Interests in Shares


The Company were  notified on 11  April 2008, by  Sunway Real  Estate
Inc., BVI that,  following a recent  transfer of 4,134,375  Gulfsands
shares to the Searle Family Trust  and a sale of a further  1,252,895
Gulsfands shares, they no  longer have a  notifiable interest in  the
Company's share capital.

The Searle  Family Trust  is now  interested in  4,134,375  Gulfsands
shares representing 3.7% of the Company's issued share capital.
