The Company  were notified  on 3  April 2008  by Schroders  plc  that
Schroders  Investment   Management   Limited  had   increased   their
shareholding and  had, at  2 April  2008, an  interest in  13,439,644
shares in  Gulfsands Petroleum  plc which  represents 12.09%  of  the
Company's issued share capital.
