Shareholding Notification

London, 30^th October, 2014:Gulfsands Petroleum plc ("Gulfsands" or the "Company" - AIM: GPX), the oil and gas production, exploration and development company with activities in Syria, Morocco, Tunisia, Colombia and the U.S.A. advises of the following changes in relation to shares held by a significant shareholder.

The Company has today been informed by Waterford Finance & Investment Ltd ("Waterford") that as of 10^th July 2014, Waterford held 30,616,833 shares, representing 25.97% of the ordinary shares outstanding. Further to this the Company has also been informed that as of 14^th October 2014, Waterford held 30,776,883 shares, representing 26.11% of the ordinary shares outstanding.

Separately, the Company has also been made aware of dealings in the Company's shares by Waterford in the period between 15^th October 2014 and 23^rd October 2014.  

Following these dealings and as of today's date, Waterford now holds 31,246,833 ordinary shares in the Company, representing 26.51% of the ordinary shares outstanding.
