                          DIRECTOR/PDMR SHAREHOLDING


GUS plc has received notification that Don Robert, a director of the Company, 
has today exercised options in respect of 173,151 Ordinary shares in the 
Company.
The options were granted on 6 June 2002 at a price of 653p per share under the
Company's North America Stock Option Plan. Following this exercise, Mr Robert
sold these shares at a price of 921.5p per share.
This notification was made in accordance with DR 3.1.4R(1)(b). Following this
notification, options are held by directors over 1,681,702 shares in the 
Company.
