('THE COMPANY')
DIRECTOR/PDMR SHAREHOLDING
GUS plc ('the Company') has received notifications that, following the maturity
of options granted on 9 February 2001 at a price of 384p per share under the
Company's SAYE share option scheme, there has been an increase in the number
of GUS Ordinary shares of 29 3/43p held by four directors as set out below.
Notifications of these changes were received by the Company on 2 May and were
made in accordance with DR 3.1.4R(1)(b).

• The number of Ordinary shares now held by Sir Victor Blank includes a non-
beneficial interest of 2,580 Ordinary shares of 29 3/43p. All the other
holdings shown above are beneficial.
• As previously reported, the invitation in 2001 to non-executive directors
(including Sir Victor Blank and Oliver Stocken) to participate in the SAYE
share option scheme was a one-off arrangement.
