GUS plc has received a notification from John Coombe (a non-executive director
of the Company) of a purchase on the London Stock Exchange of 5,678 Ordinary
shares of 25p each in the Company at a price of £8.805 per share. This purchase
was made on 17 November 2005. Following this purchase, Mr Coombe holds 14,500
GUS Ordinary shares.

This notification was received by the Company on 17 November 2005 and was made
