PRESS RELEASE
16 October 2014
GUSBOURNE ESTATE HARVEST REPORT
Gusbourne is pleased to announce that the 2014 harvest was successfully completed on the 7th of October.
The quality of the grapes has been excellent, with optimum levels of natural sugar and acidity, both of which meet our own exacting quality standards. Yield volumes have been very good and in line with expectations. An early spring and a particularly warm September dictated one of the earliest harvests of the last ten years and we are pleased that the grapes were gathered before the onset of the recent inclement weather.
As in previous years, our harvest is dependent on the local community and we remain grateful to the regular contingent of around thirty local residents who have once more helped to hand pick our grapes.
Andrew Weeber, Chairman, commented:
"In terms of climate, 2014 has been an excellent year at Gusbourne. Early ripening enabled us to harvest grapes of outstanding quality, which has added to our inventories of premium sparkling wine."
