                         FURTHER RE:  EGM RESOLUTIONS

The Great Universal Stores P.L.C. announces that all the resolutions proposed
at the Extraordinary General Meeting of the Company held this morning
were passed, with approximately 95% of the votes cast, in favour of the 4
resolutions.
