APPOINTMENT OF NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTORS

Halma, the leading safety, health and sensor technology group, announces the appointment of Lord Norman Blackwell and Steve Marshall as non-executive Directors of the Company with effect from 29 July 2010.

Norman Blackwell is non-executive Chairman of Interserve Plc, Senior Independent Director at Standard Life Plc and a board member of OFCOM, the communications regulator.  His past business roles have included Senior Independent Director at SEGRO plc and at The Corporate Services Group plc, Director of Group Development at NatWest Group and Partner at McKinsey & Company.  He served as Head of the Prime Minister's Policy Unit from 1995 to 1997 and was subsequently Chairman of the independent Centre for Policy Studies from 2000 to 2009 where he remains a board member. He was created a Life Peer in 1997.

Steve Marshall is non-executive Chairman of Balfour Beatty plc. He is a former chairman of Delta plc, Queens' Moat Houses plc and Torex Retail plc (see note 1) as well as a former non-executive director at Southern Water Services Limited. He was Group Chief Executive of Railtrack Group plc and prior to that Thorn plc, having also served as Finance Director at each company. His earlier career included a wide range of corporate and operational roles at Grand Metropolitan plc, Burton Group, Black & Decker and BOC Group.

Following the appointment of Lord Blackwell and Steve Marshall, Richard Stone, Halma's Senior Independent Director, has notified the Company of his intention to step down from the Board at the July 2011 AGM, a period which will ensure a smooth and orderly transition to his successors.

Geoff Unwin, Chairman of Halma, commented on the appointments:

"I am delighted to announce that both Steve Marshall and Lord Blackwell have agreed to join the Board of Halma, immediately following our AGM on July 29th.

Steve Marshall brings a wealth of different sector experience to our Board and, in particular, direct knowledge of several of our end-markets. Lord Blackwell too brings a strong variety of experience and I'm sure will contribute strongly to our strategic debates. I look forward to them both joining."

Notes

1.       Steve Marshall was non-executive chairman of Torex Retail plc from February 2007 to August 2007.  He was appointed to that role by the company's board to maximise value for stakeholders.  This ultimately resulted in the sale of the group's operations.  The parent company was simultaneously placed into voluntary administration.

2.       There are no further details to disclose pursuant to Listing Rule 9.6.13.
