                    Appointment of Deputy Chief Executive


Halma, the leading safety and environmental technology group, is pleased to
announce the appointment of Andrew Williams as Deputy Chief Executive with
immediate effect.


Andrew Williams joined Halma in 1994 as a director of a subsidiary within the
Group's Water sector.  He was appointed Assistant Divisional Chief Executive in
2001 and Divisional Chief Executive in 2002.  In July 2004 he was appointed as
an Executive Director of Halma p.l.c.


Commenting on the appointment, Geoff Unwin, Chairman, said, 'This is a further
demonstration of the strength in depth that Halma enjoys within its senior
management team.'
