Employee Share Ownership Plan Acquisition Announcement


On 19 October 2006, the Trustees of the Hammerson Employee Share Ownership Plan
notified the Company that on 17 October 2006 they had acquired 300,000 ordinary
shares of 25p each at a price of 1308.144p per share.  The Trust now holds a
total of 862,762 shares.


By virtue of their inclusion within Hammerson's Share Plans, the following
Executive Directors of Hammerson plc are deemed to be interested in these shares
acquired by the Trust:
