Following the exercise of nil cost options granted on 8 March 2005 under the
Hammerson 2000 Deferred Share Plan, a director of Hammerson plc, Mr. S R
Melliss, acquired 21,738 ordinary shares of 25p each in Hammerson plc on 18
March 2008. Of the 21,738 shares acquired, 15,338 shares were sold at £10.65 on
the same day.



As a result of these transactions, Mr S R Melliss now holds 64,026 ordinary
shares of 25p each in Hammerson plc.
