Following the exercise of nil cost options granted on 8 March 2005 under the
Hammerson 2000 Deferred Share Plan, a director of Hammerson plc, Mr P W Cole,
acquired 19,202 ordinary shares of 25p each in Hammerson plc on 11 April 2008.
Of the 19,202 shares acquired, 5,202 shares were sold at £10.14 on the same day.

As a result of these transactions, Mr P W Cole now holds 60,993 ordinary shares
of 25p each in Hammerson plc.
