On 1 May 2012, Hammerson plc (the "Company") received notification that David Atkins exercised an option granted on 15 April 2009 under the Company's Savings-related Share Option Scheme to buy 4,212 ordinary shares of 25 pence each in the Company at an option price of £2.172. 

Mr Atkins' total shareholding in the Company following the transaction is as follows:
