Mr P W B Cole, a director of Hammerson plc, exercised options on 2 December 2003
over 6,500 ordinary 25p shares at 456.5p per share and 6,000 ordinary 25p shares
at 379p per share.

Mr Cole then sold the resultant 12,500 shares at 635p per share on 2 December
2003.

Following this exercise, Mr Cole holds options under the Company's Executive
Share Option Scheme over a further 52,558 ordinary 25p shares.
