Mr S R Melliss, a director of Hammerson plc, exercised options on 8 December
2003 over 12,500 ordinary 25p shares at 456.5p per share.


Mr Melliss then sold 11,500 of the resultant 12,500 shares at 639p per share on
8 December 2003.


Following this exercise, Mr Melliss holds options under the Company's Executive
Share Option Scheme over a further 116,418 ordinary 25p shares.  Mr Melliss has
increased his holding of shares in the Company to 12,782.
