Hammerson plc - Appointment of Jacques Espinasse as a Non-Executive Director


Hammerson plc announces the appointment of Jacques Espinasse as a non-executive
Director of the Company with effect from1 May 2007.

Mr Espinasse joined Vivendi as Chief Financial Officer in 2002 and is a Member
of the Management Board.

Previously Mr Espinasse was Chief Operating Officer of TPS La Television Par
Satellite, an Executive Vice President at CEP Communication and, prior to its
privatisation, Finance Director of Havas.

Jacques is non-executive director of SFR, Maroc Telecom, Universal Music Group,
Canal+ France, Vivendi Games, SES-Global and LBPAM.  Mr Espinasse has in the
past been a lecturer at the Institute of Political Science of Paris, a member of
the Loan Committee of Credit National, Auditor of the Institute of National
Defense and an Advisor to the Director of the Institute of National Defense.

Aged 63, Mr Espinasse holds a BBA and an MBA from the University of Michigan.
