Board Appointment
The directors of Hammerson plc announce the appointment of David Atkins to the
Board as an executive director and Managing Director, UK Retail, effective 1
January 2007.
John Bywater, an executive director is retiring from the Board as planned on 31
March 2007.
In addition to these changes, Jon Emery will be appointed Managing Director, UK
Development, also effective 1 January 2007. David Atkins and Jon Emery will each
report to John Richards, Chief Executive, and continue to serve as members of
the group's UK Board.
Peter Cole, currently an executive director of Hammerson plc, becomes Deputy
Chairman of the Board of Hammerson UK, and will continue to be responsible for
the group's overall investment and development activities.
Commenting on these changes, John Nelson, Chairman said:
' We are delighted that David Atkins, who has worked for Hammerson for eight
years, will join the Board of the Company.
These appointments will strengthen Hammerson's management as we enter the REIT
regime. They demonstrate the group's succession planning and the strength and
depth of the team within Hammerson.
I would also like to thank John Bywater for his very significant contribution to
Hammerson over the past nine years.'

1) David Atkins, MRICS, aged 40, joined Hammerson in 1998 to focus on strategic
planning and corporate acquisitions. He was appointed Director of Retail Parks
in 2002, following Hammerson's acquisition of Grantchester Holdings. In 2003 he
joined the Board of Hammerson UK Properties plc, and was appointed Director,
Head of UK Retail in 2005. He is responsible for all the group's UK retail
properties.
2) Jon Emery, aged 40, joined Hammerson in 1989, and has since been responsible
for managing several of the group's major developments including The Oracle,
Reading and Bullring, Birmingham. In March 2005 he was appointed Head of UK
Development and Construction and became a Director of the UK Board.
