Hammerson plc ("Hammerson")
Investor site visit
Hammerson is today hosting an event for investors and analysts which will include a visit to the Elliott's Field Shopping Park development in Rugby, followed by a tour of the on-site progress at Victoria Gate in Leeds.
The Elliott's Field proposal will deliver Hammerson's next generation retail park. Anchored by Debenhams and Marks & Spencer, the scheme will accommodate 16 new fashion, home and catering brands; H&M, River Island, Fat Face and Ed's Easy Diner will all open their first Hammerson shopping park stores here.
Victoria Quarter at the heart of Leeds has established itself as the leading luxury retail destination in the north of England. The adjacent Victoria Gate development, now less than a year from its launch, will create two new covered arcades comprising of more than 30 new stores and restaurants, including aspirational and designer brands and John Lewis' first store in the city. Victoria Gate represents a huge opportunity for retailers, drawing on the vibrant Leeds city catchment and the highly affluent surrounding areas such as Harrogate, Ilkley and York. As a result of recent and planned investment in Leeds retail, the city is positioned to overtake Manchester to become the UK's fourth retail destination according to Javelin's Venuescore.
No statement on current trading will be made in the presentation which will form part of this visit. A copy of the presentation will be made available following the event on Hammerson's website www.hammerson.com
