The Board of Hansa Trust PLC is pleased to announce that on Monday 7 March 2005,
a significant number of the Company's 'A' Ordinary non-voting shares changed
hands.

The transaction which was arranged by the Company's brokers, Close Brothers
Securities Limited, was between existing shareholders and the clients of eleven
institutions and clients of private client brokers. It is anticipated that the
enlarged shareholder base will ultimately provide greater liquidity in the
shares which will benefit all shareholders.

The Board believes that this transaction is a sign of confidence in the Company
and in its future and welcomes the new shareholders.
