Appointment of non-executive Chairman

Holidaybreak, the education, leisure and activity travel group, today announces that John Coleman has been appointed to the Board as a Non-executive Director with immediate effect. He will assume the Chairmanship when Bob Ayling retires on 1 May 2009.

Mr. Coleman, 56, was Chief Executive of House of Fraser plc until 2006. He is currently non-executive chairman of Aga Rangemaster Group plc and a non-executive director of Travis Perkins plc. 

Carl Michel, Group Chief Executive, said: 

"We are delighted that John has joined Holidaybreak. He has spent the bulk of his career in consumer facing businesses where the emphasis has been on quality and customer service. With his excellent corporate track record and strong reputation in the City, he will be an invaluable addition to the Board."

Interim Results

The Company expects to announce its Interim Results for the six months ending 31 March 2009 on 26 May 2009.
