                Announcement of Senior Independent Director


Holidaybreak, the UK's leading operator of specialist holiday businesses, today
announces the appointment of James Wallace as its senior independent
non-executive director.

He succeeds Clive McLintock who retired from the Board on 31 December 2004.

Mr Wallace has been a non-executive director of the company since May 2002. He
is also chairman of the Lowry Theatres and galleries in Manchester.
