NOTIFICATION OF INTEREST IN HOLIDAYBREAK PLC ORDINARY 5P SHARES

On 15 March 2001, Holidaybreak plc received notification from Standard Life
Investments of 1 George Street, Edinburgh, EH2 2LL that in terms of Part V of
the Companies Act 1989, Section 134, on 14 March 2001, Standard Life
Investments sold 582,741 shares and purchased 15,000 shares on behalf of
Standard Life Group.  This decreased the total held as a material interest to
2,106,657 shares being 4.589% of the issued stock of that class (45,904,825
ordinary 5p shares).
