Holidaybreak plc is pleased to announce the appointment of Simon Tobin as
successor to Travers Cox, Managing Director and Founder of Explore Worldwide
('Explore'), the market leading adventure holidays operator which it acquired
in February of this year

As envisaged at the time of the acquisition, Travers Cox will step down at the
end of the year from both the Managing Directorship of Explore and his
position on the Holidaybreak Board.  He will continue with Explore in a
consultancy capacity.

Simon Tobin whose appointment will take effect from 1 January 2001 is
currently Managing Director of Keycamp Holidays which forms part of
Holidaybreak's Camping Division.  He will also join the Holidaybreak Board and
will be succeeded at Keycamp by John Baines, the current Marketing Director.

Explore are also announcing today the appointment of Joanne Field - who has
wide ranging industry experience with Airtours, Avis and Thomas Cook - to the
new position of Marketing Director.

Commenting, Richard Atkinson, Chief Executive Holidaybreak said:
'Travers Cox has fulfilled a vital role in enabling us to successfully manage
the transitional post acquisition period at Explore.  We are delighted to be
retaining his knowledge and expertise in a consultancy role.  I believe Simon
Tobin with his 10 years experience at Keycamp and his 10 years at Contiki
Travel is ideally suited to his new role and will be a valued member of the
plc Board.

Holidaybreak plc confirms that there are no details which require to be
disclosed under paragraph 6F.2b)- g) of the UKLA Listing Rules.
