HOLIDAYBREAK PLC APPOINTS NEW DIRECTOR TO THE BOARD WITH EFFECT FROM 22
FEBRUARY 2000


Mr Travers Vincent Cox was today appointed a director of Holidaybreak plc.
Travers Cox was formerly managing director of Explore Worldwide Limited which
was acquired by Holidaybreak plc on 22 February 2000.

Mr Cox has not held directorships in any other publicly quoted company at any
time in the previous five years.  There are no disclosures to make under
paragraph 6.F.2(b) to (g) of the Stock Exchange Listing Rules.

Mr Cox's appointment is as an executive director and his specific function
will be as managing director of Explore Worldwide.
