BOARD CHANGES AT HARGREAVES LANSDOWN
PETER HARGREAVES TO STEP DOWN AS CEO IN AUTUMN 2010
Peter Hargreaves, the Chief Executive and co-founder of Hargreaves Lansdown, is to step down as Chief Executive in the autumn of 2010.
Ian Gorham, who has been Chief Operating Officer of the Hargreaves Lansdown Group since September 2009, will be appointed as Deputy Chief Executive with immediate effect and will, subject to FSA approval, become Chief Executive in the autumn.
Peter Hargreaves, who co-founded the firm with Stephen Lansdown in 1981, will remain an Executive Director, concentrating on client liaison and maintaining the unrivalled level of service which he believes has been the most important factor in Hargreaves Lansdown's growth and success. He will also remain closely involved in producing the firm's newsletters and investment information.

Career to date
Ian joined the international firm of chartered accountants Deloitte in 1993 and worked in the financial services group where he qualified in 1996. In 1999 he moved to Bristol where he successfully established a financial services practice servicing the south west of England.
In 2003 he moved to Grant Thornton where he was appointed Partner and Head of Financial Services where during his tenure the division enjoyed an eightfold increase in income.
Ian joined Hargreaves Lansdown as Chief Operating Officer in September 2009. The whole Board and senior staff at Hargreaves Lansdown are fully behind Ian's appointment.
