Harworth Group plc
Establishment of new ESG Board Committee
The Board of Harworth Group plc ("Harworth" or the "Company" or the "Group") is pleased to announce that it has established a new Environmental, Social and Governance ("ESG") Committee (the "Committee").
As a leading Master Developer and regeneration company, ESG is central to Harworth's purpose, and the establishment of the Committee seeks to support the Company's ongoing commitment to ESG matters, encapsulated by the "Harworth Way". The aim of the Committee is to provide oversight, on behalf of the Board, in relation to the Group's ESG strategy and activities. This will include, but is not limited to, ensuring the Company maintains appropriate policies and processes to effectively support its ESG framework, agreeing the ESG targets the Company should set, and overseeing the Company's ESG reporting and disclosures.
The Committee is chaired by Angela Bromfield (Senior Independent Director), and includes Alastair Lyons (Board Chair), Martyn Bowes (Non-Executive Director), Lynda Shillaw (Chief Executive) and Kitty Patmore (Chief Financial Officer). The Committee will be supported by an external ESG adviser.
Alastair Lyons, Chair, commented: "As a specialist in brownfield regeneration that cares passionately about the creation of sustainable places where people want to live and work, ESG has always been at the heart of everything we do at Harworth. Our new ESG Committee will build on the significant progress we have made to date, with a particular focus for the coming year on setting appropriate ESG targets across our business, and enhancing our data collection, monitoring and disclosure."
