UK Coal advises that, pursuant to the FSA's Disclosure and Transparency Rules, it was notified on 22 July 2008 that following a transaction on 18 July 2008 Credit Suisse Securities (Europe) Limited has a notifiable interest in 4,758,988 ordinary shares of 1p, representing 3.03% of the voting rights in the total issued ordinary share capital of UK Coal.
