UK Coal advises that, pursuant to the FSA's Disclosure and Transparency Rules, it was notified on 18 August 2008 that following a transaction on 15 August 2008 Ameriprise Financial Inc, and its group, has a notifiable interest in 7,923,895 ordinary shares of 1p, representing 5.043% of the voting rights in the total issued ordinary share capital of UK Coal.
