UK Coal advises that, pursuant to the FSA's Disclosure and Transparency Rules, it was notified on 13 October 2008 of the following transactions:

For the purposes of the following please note that Goodweather Holdings (IOM) Limited and Goodweather Holdings Limited are companies within the Peel Holdings Group.

On 13 October 2008 Goodweather Holdings (IOM) Limited disposed of its entire interest of 38,357,633 ordinary shares of 1p (which represented 24.41% of the voting rights in the total issued share capital of UK Coal) and hence no longer has a notifiable interest in the voting rights attached to the issued ordinary share capital of UK Coal.

Following a transaction on 13 October 2008 Goodweather Holdings Limited has a notifiable interest in 38,357,633 ordinary shares of 1p, representing 24.41% of the voting rights in the total issued ordinary share capital of UK Coal.
