UK Coal advises that, pursuant to the FSA's Disclosure and Transparency Rules, it was notified on 27 March 2009 that following a transaction on 25 March 2009 Legal & General Group PLC has increased its notifiable interest to 6,704,961 ordinary shares of 1p, representing 4.26% of the voting rights in the total issued ordinary share capital of UK Coal.
