UK Coal advises that, pursuant to the FSA's Disclosure and Transparency Rules, it was notified on 22 December 2008 that following a transaction on 19 December 2008 Legal & General Group PLC has increased its notifiable interest to 6,398,298 ordinary shares of 1p, representing 4.06% of the voting rights in the total issued ordinary share capital of UK Coal.
