UK Coal advises that, pursuant to the FSA's Disclosure and Transparency Rules, it was notified on 26 January 2009 that following a transaction on 23 January 2009 Legal & General Group PLC has reduced its notifiable interest to 6,162,394 ordinary shares of 1p, representing 3.91% of the voting rights in the total issued ordinary share capital of UK Coal.
