UK Coal advises that, pursuant to the FSA's Disclosure and Transparency Rules, it was notified on 14 October 2009 that, following a transaction on 13 October 2009, AEGON UK Group of Companies has a notifiable interest in 15,923,162 ordinary shares of 1p, representing 5.32% of the voting rights in the total issued ordinary share capital of UK Coal.
