Hays announces unique partnership with i2 Technologies in Europe
Acquisition of French Supply Chain Management Consultancy
Hays has signed an agreement with i2 Technologies, the US-based world leader
in intelligent eBusiness solutions which include planning and optimisation
software for supply chain and customer management processes. The initial
investment is $10m (£6.6m) with potential further payments linked to results.
Hays will have unique use of i2's software solutions in Europe when offering
'Fourth Party Solutions' to its major international customers.
Argon Groupe, a French consultancy specialising in supply chain and customer
relationship management, was acquired for a total cash consideration of FF68m
(£6.5m). Both initiatives will place Hays at the forefront of the rapidly
evolving European market for B2B Internet-enabled management of outsourced
business processes.
i2
i2 Technologies is a leading provider of intelligent eBusiness solutions
linking 'trading communities' via the Internet. The company was founded in
1988 and has a market capitalisation of $17 billion. It has long-term
contracts with major customers including Dell, Texas Instruments, Philips and
Compaq.
Hays and i2 will work in a unique partnership to develop 'Fourth Party
Solutions', using i2's software to design and manage complex outsourced
business processes. Hays' Logistar supply chain software is complimentary
with i2 software and the two will be combined to provide a powerful supply
chain solution. The business solutions will provide substantial
opportunities for all Hays core activities and/or other partners. The full
strategy and business plan detailing these exciting new developments will be
announced in September.
Argon
Formed in 1994 by former Andersen Consulting partners and managers, Argon is
an established specialist consultancy in customer relationship management and
supply chain management. Its customers include France Telecom, Electricite de
France, Intermarche, La Poste, Lyonnais des Eaux and Perrier. Argon has
considerable experience in implementing customer relationship management
software and employs 80 experienced, multi-cultural business consultants and
support staff.
In addition to strategy development, solution design and project
implementation, Argon has also developed Cimsup, a software package that
provides supply chain management solutions for small and medium sized
organisations, which is complimentary with Hays' Logistar.
Commenting on the i2 agreement, Ronnie Frost, Chairman of Hays plc said:
'The markets in which we operate are changing, and our customers increasingly
require 'Fourth Party Solutions', or complete design and management of
complex, integrated and often Internet-based business solutions. Given i2's
acknowledged leadership of the market for intelligent eBusiness solutions and
supply chain software, we are delighted to have signed this unique agreement
with them in Europe.'
