Directorate
Hays plc announces that, following Board approval of the decision to demerge its
DX Mail business, as announced separately this morning, Colin Matthews will, as
previously indicated, be resigning as Chief Executive and a Director of Hays plc
and will leave the company on 30th June 2004. From 1st July 2004, Denis Waxman
will become Chief Executive of Hays plc.
Commenting, Bob Lawson, Chairman of Hays, said today:
'Colin's contribution to the transformation of Hays into a focussed Specialist
Recruitment and HR Services business has been enormous. As well as determining
the strategy, he has driven the implementation of the transformation tirelessly
over the last 15 months. We have executed a large number of transactions
without any disruption to the core business. Having now set the strategy for
the divestment of DX, his job at Hays has been completed. We look forward to
continuing to grow our Specialist Recruitment and HR Services business under
Denis's leadership.'
'I would like to thank Colin wholeheartedly on behalf of the Board and wish him
well in his future career.'
