Shareholders approve demerger of DX Services Plc ('DX Services')


At an Extraordinary General Meeting of Hays plc ('Hays') held this morning, all
the resolutions to effect the demerger of Hays' DX business were approved.

It is expected that the demerger will become effective on Monday, 1 November
2004 and that dealing in the consolidated shares of DX Services will commence at
8.00 a.m. on that day.  DX Services will be listed on the London Stock Exchange.
